I'll try to add captions -- that way you can learn names and be subjected to whatever attempts at wit I can muster. It's a win-win situation.
Also, listen to the opening track off Boris' album, Pink. It's called "Farewell", and its sound will introduce you to that glory and wonder that is the shoegazer genre.
Anyway, on to the memories...
Here, Courtney introduces us to the strange concoction known as the oyster shooter. According to our sage guide, Rusty, they usually involve an oyster, horseradish, and cocktail sauce in one shot glass and a shot of beer in another. First goes down the oyster, chased by the beer. Peg Leg Pete's, the location for our experiment, had other ideas, however. They mixed them all together, creating a shot that was unable to be taken down in one gulp (never a good sign with shots) and that was as jarring to the taste buds as one can imagine. All that said, an experience worth seeking out, if you ask me.

After filling their stomachs with delicious kabobs, Phil, the author, and Mary Ellen can't avoid breaking into song. "When a maaaaaan, loves a woman..."

The horrific view we were subjected to all week. I surely wouldn't wish it on anyone...

Well, oysters and horseradish get two strikes as far as I'm concerned...you'd have to pay me a LOT of money to try that one!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a blast though!
